John Howard Bolyard

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Howard Bolyard, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who departed from this world on March 11, 2026, at the age of 75. 

John was born to the late Opha and Marilyn Bolyard on September 27, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio. A proud graduate of West Carrollton High School, class of 1968, he carried the values of hard work and dedication throughout his life as he pursued a career in quality control at the General Motors Diesel Engine Plant. John was an active member of the Centerville Community Church, where he found a sense of community and belonging. An avid runner, he embraced the joy of exercise, often taking daily walks and enjoying the soothing sands of Miami’s beaches. In his early years, he discovered a passion for fishing, which allowed him to connect with nature and unwind in the serene company of the water. 

John is survived by his loving wife, Terri Grimshaw Bolyard, with whom he celebrated over 56 years of marriage. He is also survived by their daughter, Rachel; grandchildren Kayla, Hannah, and Jacob and great-grandchildren Skylar, CJ, and DJ, all of whom brought him immense joy and laughter.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 18, at Centerville Cemetery (68 Maple Ave, Centerville, OH 45459).
