John Martin Henry, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend, John Martin Henry, Jr. (May 3, 1961 - May 25, 2025).

John passed away in the family home — the same Kettering home where he and his faithful, loving wife of forty years, Lenette (Kozee), raised their three daughters: Brittany (Timothy Joseph) Pierce, Rachel (Kenneth) Mosher, and Emily (Jayme) Carper. He was proudly known as Grandpa to eleven grandchildren. John was born in Dayton, Ohio to the late John “Jack” Martin Henry, Sr. and Phyllis Anne (Rensch). He is lovingly remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren, sister Jeannette (Timothy) Myers, brother Jeffrey (Debra) Henry, and their families.

Within the walls of the home his grandfather built, John achieved his lifelong dream of building a family rooted in love and legacy. John was the kind of dad who showed up for everything that mattered, and to him, everything mattered. Like his father before him, John held the title of Grandpa in the highest esteem, never missing the opportunity to nurture his grandchildren’s talents and interests, just as he did with his own girls.

Accompanied by his strong devotion to family, John was known for his talent in graphic design, affinity for trivia, passion for music, and most of all, his heart to serve others. He referred to himself as the "jack of all trades, master of none," but we know better. With a humble and joyful heart, John helped us all fix many problems, even the ones we brought upon ourselves. He encouraged friends and family to be grateful and to remember: "Life is Good TM."

Those wishing to gather in remembrance of John are welcome to a visitation from 6:00-8:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home in Kettering on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. His memorial service will be held at 11:00am the following day, Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the same location (2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH 45429).
