John P. "Jack" O'Donnell

O’Donnell, John P (Jack), age 90 of Centerville passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 4, 2023. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Patsy; his brother, Bob O’Donnell and sister in-laws Vivian Patrie and Aldine Acheson. He was a wonderful father to Jeff (Jill) O’Donnell, Jim (Peggy) O’Donnell, John (Sue) O’Donnell, Jay (Rachelle) O’Donnell, Jill O’Donnell (Derrick), Joni (Brian) Donoher. He loved spending time with his grandchildren; Sean, Ellie, Patrick, Brian, Julianne, Jack, Taylor, Saundra, Meghan, Kerry, Mackenzie and Grace; and his great-grandsons: JP and Ben. He treasured his time spent with his brother-in-law, Cyril Acheson, dear friend Edna Kenney, his numerous nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

Jack was a graduate of Chaminade High School, attended Colorado University for 2 years before serving 4 years in the US Army. He went on to graduate from THE Ohio State University and was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at both schools. Jack was a big sports fan and bled scarlet and gray; he absolutely loved the Buckeyes! He volunteered many hours coaching SAY soccer and Wee Elk Football. He was a big Centerville Elk Athletic supporter, cheering from the stands and eventually watching his grandchildren compete with their schools. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15 at 11:00am and family will receive friends (casual attire please) from 4:30pm - 7:30pm on Tuesday, February 14 at Routsong Funeral Home, Kettering. Condolences may be sent to the family via the internet at www.routsong.com.
