John R. Pulwers, age 70, of Centerville, OH, formerly of Spotsylvania, VA, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Born on April 12, 1954, in Baton Rouge, LA, John was the beloved son of the late Jack Pulwers and Mary Ann Montgomery.
After completing his high school education, John moved to Northern Virginia, where he attended Northern Virginia Community College, earning degrees in General Studies and Computer Information Systems (CIS). He embarked on a successful career as an IT Specialist predominantly in the field of Software Automation. His most recent project was working for the state of Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
In Virginia, John met the love of his life, Kathleen, and they married in 2000. John was an avid music lover and could often be found practicing his favorite songs on the guitar. He had a passion for martial arts and wilderness survival. He was very proud of earning a black belt in karate with his son, Kyle. John was happiest outdoors, enjoying fishing trips with his daughter, Hunter, and spending time by the lake. He was also a devoted animal lover.
Above all, John was a dedicated husband, father, and friend. His family was the center of his world, and he relished every moment spent with them. His joyful nurturing and loving personality, sense of humor, and infectious laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Marilyn Smith and David Pulwers.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kathleen Pulwers; his four children, Hunter (Kellan) Pulwers, Kyle Pulwers, Jessica (Tim) Alldredge, and Justin (Kara) Beadel; brother, Jack (Patricia) Pulwers; and sisters, Abbe Pulwers and Anne (Douglas) Johnson.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to the American Heart Association.
