John William Miller

MILLER, John William, age 88, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2005. John was born in Cabool, Missouri to the late Fred M. and Florence (Wicker) Miller. At the age of eight, the family moved to Norton, Kansas. He was a longtime member of South Park United Methodist Church. John was a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and advanced training and further study at the University of Kentucky, Ohio State University, University of Dayton and Wright State University. He was a member of William E. Ash Aphasia Support Group at Miami Valley Hospital. John was an honored member of the Toastmasters International Club #405 and also attended the Aviation Club at Hithergreen Senior Citizens Center, and at one time had been an active member of Boy Scouts of American Troop Committee 153. Preceded in death by beloved son, Gary L. Miller and sister, Isabel Davis. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Kathryn “Kay”; beloved daughter, Barbara (Richard) Krewson, of Dayton, OH; beloved daughter-in-law, Judy (Keith) Miller, of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Christina Gustin, of Kettering, OH, Jessica Miller Scarbrough, of Littleton, CO, Derek Miller, of Denver, CO; brother, Robert Miller, of Mountain Home, AR. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville with Rev. Eric McGlade officiating. Burial in Centerville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1-2:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in John’s memory to South Park United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 140 Stonemill Rd.
