Carpenter, Joyce “Joy”, age 92 of Fairborn, passed away on July 14, 2026. She was born November 5, 1933 to parents William and Stella Carpenter. She grew up in Wallingford, KY until the family moved to Fairborn in 1956.

In 1959, Joy started her professional career as a bank teller. She was a longtime, dedicated employee of Farmer’s and Merchant’s Bank, which later became Fifth-Third. She remained there until her retirement. During her time at the bank, Joy cultivated many long lasting friendships with coworkers and patrons, especially her best friend, Loretta.

Joy is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Rick, Bill, Jack, and Ronny Carpenter. She is survived by her sister, Linda (Ronnie) Brown, and cherished lifelong friend, Loretta.

Graveside services will be held at Fairfield Cemetery (720 Clover St. Fairborn, 45324) on Tuesday, July 21st, beginning at 12:00pm.
