Judy Arlene Zimmerman

ZIMMERMAN, Judy Arlene (Diestelhorst), age 75, of Washington Twp., passed away Friday, June 28, 2024. 

Judy was born July 5, 1948 in St. Louis, MO to Alvin W. and Dorothy (Dufflelmeier) Diestelhorst. She attended nursing school at Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis, graduating as an RN. Judy also studied at Colorado Women’s College in Denver, earning her BS in Allied Health. Caring for people was her passion, and she made a career out of being an RN, a wife, and a mother. She served her country as a nurse in the Air Force from 1972-1974. Judy was a kindhearted woman who was loved by everyone she knew. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dr. James Diestelhorst; and sister, Donna Diestelhorst. Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Eric Zimmerman; son, Steve (Karla) Zimmerman, and their children Logan and Natalie, all of Potomac, MD; daughter, Susan (Robb Vessley) Zimmerman, of Noblesville, IN; niece, Patricia (John) Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Jone Zimmerman; sister and brother-in-law, Phebe and James Kallstrom; and sister-in-law, Vicky Diestelhorst. Private family services will be held. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Judy’s name to the National Cancer Foundation, Susan G. Komen Foundation, the American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
