Julie Rose Tamborski

August 23, 1963 — July 10, 2022

Mason-Julie Rose Tamborski, 58, of Mason, Ohio, passed away at Brookside Extended Care on July 10, 2022. Julie was born August 23, 1963, the daughter of the late Dorothea Genevieve Tamborski and the late Christ Tamborski. Also preceded in death by sister-in-law, Debbie Tamborski and niece, Asheleigh Tamborski. Julie is survived by her stepmother, Carolyn Tamborski; two sisters, Annie Harvey of Wichita, Kansas, and Jean Strand of Aberdeen, Maryland; four brothers, Peter (Pam) Tamborski of Milford, Ohio, John (Beth) of Castle Rock, Colorado, Mark Tamborski of Miamisburg, Ohio, and David (Mary) Tamborski of Hillsboro, Ohio; a host of nieces and nephews, Kathleen Harvey, Maria Tamborski, Caroline Tamborski, Jack Tamborski, Diana Tamborski, Jessica Gleason, Whitney Plummer, Samantha Tamborski, Sarah Katoski, Katie Achter, Steven Tamborski, Stephanie Hager, Maggie Noble, Michael Tamborski, Gabriel Tamborski, Lizzy Tamborski and Chariss Young.

Julie was our playful little sister who developed profound disabilities at a very early age. She taught us--and the many neighborhood kids who came in and out of the Tamborski household-how to accept those who are physically and mentally different. This was brought home years later when a neighborhood kid, now in his forties, told us that Julie taught him "kindness."

Some thought that Julie was unlucky with the hand dealt to her, but we knew that she was the luckiest person on earth for having been born to such loving parents. Julie lived at home until she was 19 at which point she needed 24/7 nursing care. Our mother eventually found Brookside Extended Care in Mason, Ohio. This became Julie's second home and she resided there for almost 40 years until her passing. Our family cannot say enough about the great care provided by the Brookside family. It is a rare thing to find so many selfless people in one place, completely dedicated to the care of our most vulnerable. The Brookside staff-past and present-was a godsend to our family, and we thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro, Ohio at a later date, with details available through this website at Routsong Funeral Home. A private remembrance will also be held at Brookside Extended Care.

If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation, 4600 Devitt Dr., West Chester, OH, 45246, the American Cancer Society or the charity of their choice. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be made at www.routsong.com.
