Katherine "Katie" Neef

NEEF, Katherine “Katie” (neé Chaky), age 96, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026. Katie was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 4, 1930, to the late Mike and Julia (Batin) Chaky.

Katie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert W. Neef, as well as her three sisters and their husbands. She is survived by her two children, Thomas C. (Jeannette) Neef and Carol Ann (Ty) Tyson; grandchildren, Jason Neef, Jessica (Wes) Corich, Sarah (Kyle) Treon, Melinda (Christopher) Smith, Anna (Demetri) Tsamasiros, and Alex (Katelyn) Tyson, and 10 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

Katie gave generously of her time, volunteering at Kettering Medical Center for 35 years.

She truly loved her family, and enjoyed gardening, cross stitching, and cake decorating.

Family will greet friends Tuesday, November 3, from 10:00am-11:30am at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, Rev. Amy Duiker will close the visitation with a prayer. Interment will be held privately for family only.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
