Kathleen E. Koller

KOLLER, Kathleen “Kay” (Fleck), age 88, of Kettering, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Commercial High School in 1950. Kay was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia and Dayton Catholic’s Women Group. She was involved as a volunteer at Grand Court (Brookdale) Senior Living Community, Chaminade Class of ’47 reunion committee, religious education teacher and many hours devoted to Ascension parish, to name just a few. Kay started her career as a ticket agent with TWA. She spent time as a secretary at Ascension Church and spent many years working as the bookkeeper in the family businesses.

Kay was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and special aunt. She was an avid Dayton Flyers basketball and football fan and sports enthusiast, with special interest in the Reds, Bengals, and golf. She enjoyed flowers, special times with family and friends at the lake or on the beach. Taking care of, and helping others, brought her great joy.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Oswald E. Koller (Ozzie); parents Andrew Fleck and Florence Speller; sister and brother-in-law, Rosemarie and Paul Rau; brother-in-law, Paul Koller; and special friend John Horvat. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Dave) Steck, Christopher Koller, Joyce (David) Hupman, Kenneth (Wendy) Koller, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a niece, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00–4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering with Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 7, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive, Kettering, interment following at Calvary Cemetery.
