It is with great sadness that the Blurton Family announce the passing of Kelton Francis Blurton of Kettering, OH. Kelton passed away on July 7, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio,
Kelton was born on March 30, 1955 to Kesner Earl Blurton and Ethel Estelle Smith in Alturas California.
After graduating from high school, Kelton joined the U.S. Air Force in 1975, working his way up to a commission and retiring as a Major in 1994. During his time in the military he served as a Nurse Anesthetist and was deployed to serve in the Desert Storm conflict.
Kelton practiced for many more years doing what he loved across the Miami Valley at Good Samaritan, Riverview, Miami Valley Hospital, and with Dr. James Apesos. He also traveled to provide assistance in countries that needed it such as with Operation Walk in El Salvador before retiring.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going to the movies, and traveling to warm places. He had an adventurous spirit having enjoyed SCUBA diving, often dreamed of getting his pilot's license and even made a few jumps out of a perfectly good airplane skydiving. He was known to be incredibly generous and had a passion for helping others.
Kelton is survived by his children, son, Jeremi Blurton and wife Stacey; daughter Rachael Blurton; son Michael Blurton and wife Krissy; six grandchildren; Xavier Blurton, Xander Blurton, Brandon Blurton, Kaiden Blurton, Rylie Blurton and Peyton Blurton; and great grandson Sylas Blurton. He also leaves behind sisters Vicki and Kelli, close friend Arlene Appollo, as well as countless colleagues, friends and acquaintances. Of course this list would not be complete without his two kitties: Baby and Mama.
A visitation and service in honor of Kelton will be held on Friday, July 14 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E Stroop Rd, Kettering, OH 45429. The visitation will begin at 3:00 PM, followed by the service at 5:00 PM.
