Kenneth Gene Brown, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully in Dayton, Ohio. He was 82 years old. Kenneth dedicated 34 years of his life to the City of Kettering, where he served as Street Lighting and Design director, retiring in 2002. Beyond his work, Kenneth was a devoted family man who cherished time with his children, siblings, and grandchildren. He was often found sharing lively conversations about life, politics, and faith with his brothers, Duane and the late Dale Brown, at local coffee shops.
He had a deep and abiding faith, spending countless hours reading and studying his Bible. Kenneth also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, gardening, taking country drives and peaceful walks with his late wife, Marcia.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucille Brown; his wife, Marcia; and his brother, Dale Brown. He is survived by his children, David Brown and Laura (Joe) Logan; his grandchildren, Kyle, Lindsey, Tyler, and Keira; his brother, Duane Brown; and his sister, Marilyn Koch.
A visitation will be held at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, OH 45429, on Wednesday, September 17, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. This will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM to celebrate his life and legacy.
