Kermit Edwin Dilworth, age 91, peacefully passed away on November 7 at home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on April 22, 1934, to Frederick and Esther Dilworth.
Kermit is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Esther, and his siblings Dean, Phyllis, Betty, and Bob. He is survived by his loving partner of more than 30 years, Judy Middlestetter; his children Mike (Rebecca) Dilworth of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lysa (Jeff) Sloan of Orange County, California, Sarah (David) Blataric of Orange County, California, and Emily (Kevin) Hill of Dayton, Ohio; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kermit was blessed with the gift of gab, which served him well throughout his long and successful sales career in the printing business. He never met a stranger, and his booming voice could be heard greeting friends—old and new—from across any room.
He loved spending his days on the golf course or with a fishing rod in hand. A close second was watching UD Flyers basketball. In his later years, Kermit devoted much of his time to Memorial Church in Dayton and to the KIND (Kids in New Directions) after-school youth program. His warmth, humor, and generosity of spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible nurses—Kathy, Claudia, Zaina, and Andrea—of Day City Hospice for their compassionate care.
A celebration of Kermit’s life will be held on Sunday, November 30 at Pinehurst Clubhouse - 250 Pine Needles Dr, Dayton, Ohio - from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Day City Hospice or the KIND (Kids in New Directions) youth organization in Dayton, Ohio.
