Larry D. Matney

MATNEY, Larry D. (Papaw Larry), age 59 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital. Larry retired in 1998 from General Motors as a job setter after 32 years of service. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam era. During his retirement, Larry worked as a part-time handyman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Elsie Matney and brother, Dewey Matney Jr. Larry is survived by his close friend, Betsy Petry of Bellbrook; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Jessica Matney of Dayton and Amie (Shannon) Snyder of Independence, KY and 1 son, Brian Klein of Centerville; 2 grandchildren, Mikayla and Boston Dale Snyder; 7 sisters, Kathline Vance of Dayton, Geneva (Ernie) McCollum of Lewisburg, Josephine of Dayton, Helen (Craig) Marshall of Union, Patricia (Gene) Lacy of Dayton; Carol Sue (Roger Spivey) of Bellbrook, and Donna (Dan) Marker of Lewisburg; 3 brothers, Dennis Matney of Alamonte Springs, FL, Charles (Gladys) Matney of Dunnellon, FL and Doug (Pat) Matney of Xenia; He is also survived by his nieces and nephews who will always be crazy about him. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Beavercreek.
