Lori Ann Margret Elder

Lori Ann Margaret Elder, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, at the age of 63. She was born on January 18, 1963, in Akron, Ohio, to Brooks Elder and Janet Duncan. She was raised in Kettering, Ohio, where she graduated from Fairmont East High School, Class of 1981.

Lori possessed a vibrant spirit and a deep love for animals, particularly for horseback riding and dogs. Her passion for animal welfare and rescue initiatives defined her character, as she tirelessly worked to advocate for those without a voice. Lori also cherished her culinary talents, delighting friends and family with traditional Scottish recipes that reflected her deep appreciation for her heritage.

Her joyful life was characterized by cherished family vacations to the Smoky Mountains and memorable trips to Scotland with her mother and aunt, experiences that enriched her love for the world and its cultures. Lori valued quality friendships and maintained strong relationships with those closest to her. She is survived by her sister, Jackie Brannen; brother, Scott Elder; and nephew, Brooks Elder. She is preceded in death by her father, Brooks Elder, and mother, Janet Thatcher.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Routsong Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel, located at 2100 E Stroop Rd, Kettering, OH 45429. A service honoring her life will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Sicsa pet adoption.
