SIEGFRIED, Margaret (Peg) Spindler, age 101, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008 at Mount Pleasant Retirement Community, Monroe, OH where she had resided for a number of years. Except for her college years and the early years of her marriage, Peg was a lifelong resident of Dayton. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Viola Spindler and by her brother Donald Spindler. Following graduation from Steele High School in 1925, Peg attended Randolph-Macon College in Lynchburg, VA, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, from Ohio State University in 1929. After a year teaching at the Arcanum, OH high school, Peg married Walter Siegfried of Franklin, OH and moved to Middletown, OH but in 1938 they left Middletown and returned to Dayton. After several years with the Rike-Kumler Co., Peg was employed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base where she worked as a contract editor until retirement in 1969. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Walter in 1968. She is survived by one daughter Jeanne Mayer of Washington, D. C. and one son; David Siegfried of Miamisburg, OH; four grandchildren; Kristan Siegfried Brickler, Scott (Sonja) Siegfried, Stuart Siegfried, and Douglas (Michelle) Mayer. She also has five great-grandchildren; Lauren, Ian, Sam, Casey and James. Graveside services will be held, 11 AM Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 at the Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, OH with Rev. Keith Rodden officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St. Centerville, OH.
