WELLS, Margaret Miller, age 93, of Miamisburg, celebrated her last birthday with Jesus on June 4, 2026. Margaret was born June 4, 1933 in New Lebanon to the late William and Mollie (Wandle) Hollinger. Margaret had a long life founded on her faith, family and friends.
Margaret grew up on a farm, and loved to discuss her farm life when asked. After high school, Margaret attended Manchester College in Indiana, studying secretarial science. At the age of 19, Margaret married her beloved husband Dennis Miller. Consistent with their Church of the Brethren faith, they supported the pacifist movement with Dennis serving alternative service during the Korean War as a conscientious objector. Together, Dennis and Margaret had three children, with whom they moved to Florida, where Dennis passed away in 1967. Margaret returned to Ohio to raise her children, and marry Jim Wells. Jim and Margaret were married for 37 years, living in both Ohio and Florida. In Ohio, Margaret was the lynch pin of her extended family, hosting big family get-togethers, flooding her house with love. Family gatherings brought Margaret much joy and contentment as she wanted family with her always.
While in Ohio, Margaret and Dennis became charter members of Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren. She was heavily involved in her church, teaching Vacation Bible School and Sunday School, attending Bible studies, and proudly becoming a deacon and keyholder to the church. The dedication to her church and her love of Jesus allowed Margaret to live her life with an open and accepting heart. Never one to judge, she welcomed all into her life, modeling her belief that people are different and she did not need to understand them to love them.
Margaret worked as a stay at home mom, dedicating herself to the care of her family to whom she was devoted. When her youngest child was in High School, Margaret worked as a secretary to the Executive Vice President of Standard Register, a Fortune 500 company. She was a dedicated, humble employee who rarely shared stories about her experience in this demanding field.
Margaret was a woman of faith and family who will be missed by all who knew and loved her kind spirit. Along with her parents and both husbands, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Terri Firestone; granddaughter, Evie Santos; and all five of her brothers.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Steve (Paula) Miller, and Ron (Lisa) Miller; son-in law Reid (Julie) Firestone; grandchildren, Andy (Alexandra) Firestone, and Becky (Nick) Seville; great-grandchildren, Teddy Firestone, Jovey, Brenna, Joseph, Sadie, Micah, and Daniel Seville, Kascity Stone, and Kyla and Ejay Santos, as well as numerous much loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family will greet friends Wednesday June 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren, 800 E. David Rd., Dayton, OH 45429, with Funeral Services starting at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Margaret will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to extend their most sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff at Sycamore Glen Kettering Health Senior Living, as well as Ohio’s Hospice, for their excellent care of Margaret. The family is grateful to you for your care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heifer International, 1 World Ave., Little Rock, AR.
