Mary Catherine Hickey

HICKEY, Mary Catherine, age 89, of Dayton left her family to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 18th, 2021. Mary was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1931 to the parents of Charles Albert and Irene May (Keller) Eaton. She was a graduate of Wilbur Wright High School and attended Sinclair College for a short time. Mary was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and attended Oakwood United Methodist Church with her family. She was employed at Dayton Public Schools as a lunch room manager and retired after 25 years. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren as well as camping with her family and traveling the many National Parks. She especially enjoyed her extended trip to Europe and seeing the sights of Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria. Her talents included gardening and specializing in growing African violets. She also enjoyed scrapbooking photos of her family events and travels and attending scrapbook retreats. Mary collected antiques and loved watching the Antique Roadshow to see if she had any treasures of her own.

Preceded in death by her parents Charles and Irene Eaton, and husband Daniel M. Hickey and daughter, Babette L. She is survived by her loving children; Cynthia Harkness & husband Tim, Mary Lou Shafer & husband John, and Charles Hickey & wife Lorrie and grandchildren; Katelyn (husband David), Matthew (wife Molly), Daniel (wife Lydia) and grandchildren of Daniel and Lydia; Julia, Victoria and Charlie.

Private services for family only will be held at Routsong Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Littell officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org Memorial Donations.
