Mary Lou Wilson, age 84, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026. She was born on June 6, 1941, in Eccles, West Virginia, to Dorvin and Gladys (Biggs) Wilson.

Mary Lou was a graduate of Trap Hill High School and went on to pursue her passion for helping others. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and her Master’s degree from the University of Louisville, preparing her for a meaningful career dedicated to service.

She spent many years working as a social worker, where her compassion, dedication, and unwavering support made a lasting difference in the lives of those she served. She retired from the State of Ohio in 2006.

Mary Lou had a deep love for animals and opened her home to many in need throughout her life. She was a strong supporter of rescue efforts and gave generously to animal charities.

In her later years, Mary Lou faced a long journey with dementia. With the devoted care of her husband and the support of Functional Lifestyle Solutions (FLS), she was able to remain in the comfort of her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pat Henderson. Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband, Grant Wadsworth; her son, John (Michele) Wadsworth; and her dear sister, Sue Phillips. Her family is especially grateful for the exceptional care and support provided by FLS and Ohio’s Hospice during her final days.

Private funeral services will be held for the family, with a celebration of Mary Lou’s life to take place at David Cemetery at a later date.
