Matthew Collins

Matthew P. Collins, age 46, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away in July 2025. Born on November 24, 1978, Matt touched the lives of many throughout his time with us, embodying kindness, compassion, and a tireless work ethic. A proud graduate of Fairmont High School, Class of 1997, Matt dedicated 26 years of his life to Alley Cat Designs, where he served as a production manager, demonstrating unwavering commitment and passion for his work.

Matt was known for his generous spirit and willingness to help others, making daily visits to lend a hand to his beloved grandmother for 20 years. With a heart that seemed to encompass the world, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as hiking and canoeing, and even ventured into the thrill of skydiving on several occasions.

In addition to his professional life, Matt cherished a variety of hobbies, including woodworking, playing pool, and landscaping for his grandmother’s home. He derived great satisfaction from creating beauty and nurturing the things he loved.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Fredia Black; his brother, Jeremy Collins; his stepfather, Frank Black; and his cherished grandmother, Hulene Tinch, Nephew Jayce Collins. He is also survived by a loving extended family, including aunts Gail Tinch, Rhonda Tinch, Janice (Ronny) Miller, and Patricia (Jerry) England. Matt was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Collins.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support received during this difficult time. A visitation will be held July 26, 2025 from 10AM until12PM at Routsong Funeral home Centerville chapel (81 N Main St Centerville Ohio) with a Memorial service to follow.

Matt will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his unwavering kindness and the light he brought into the world.
