Matthew David Marcum

MARCUM, Matthew David, age 25, passed away, Friday, September 29, 2023. Matthew was born August 5, 1998 in Xenia, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Caryn (Short) Weaks; great-grandmothers, Jeanne Marcum and Mary Rhoades; and great-grandfather, Del Rhoades. Matthew is survived by his mother, Carrie (Jeff Trimble) Marcum; father, Terry Sanford, Jr.; grandmother, Charmaine Marcum; grandfather, Mark (Linda) Marcum; children, Alivia Marcum and Elijah; siblings, Justin (Jamie) Marcum and Morgann Trimble; Alivia’s mother, Ashley Jeppson; nieces and nephews, Sophia, Jace, Avalynn, Briell, Jenson, and Haisley Marcum; special friends, Noah Bundy, Tyler McCreary, Kayla McCreary, and Jacob Terry; and many extended family members and friends.

Matthew was a loving and devoted father. He had a sense of humor and could make everyone laugh. In his free time, he played video games, participated in Yuh-Gi-Oh tournaments, and he could be found enjoying the outdoors. What Matthew loved most was spending time with his daughter, Alivia.  Matthew will be dearly missed by his beloved family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the John Bryan State Park, Lower Shelter to honor Matthew.
