Michael
Woolley
December 7, 1947 – June 5, 2026
Michael Wesley Woolley, 78, died peacefully on June 5, 2026, following a long, courageous journey with dementia. Michael was born in the mountains in Bristol, Tennessee, a place where he felt a deep connection to the land. After serving two tours in Vietnam in the late 1960s, he settled in Dayton, and graduated summa cum laude from Wright State University and began his career in advertising. Decades later, he retired as president from his successful career at Weber, Geiger and Kalat, Inc. Michael was a man of great charm, quick wit, and easy humor. He had a kind and gentle heart and an eager, curious mind. Nearly all his pursuits involved creativity. He was a gifted musician and songwriter, and an engaging public speaker. For many years of his life, he was an avid reader on a variety of subjects, including physics, the work of C.G. Jung, and the exploration of human consciousness.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Wava Gay Miller Geib; his father, Ralph Woolley; and his brother, Steve Woolley. He is survived by his daughters, Hilary Edwards (Tom) and Meredith Turner-Woolley; his grandchildren, Nate, Sky, Wesley, and Ellis; his former spouse, Cheryl Turner; his nephew, Michael Woolley; and his sisters-in-law, Jean Woolley and Marsha Woolley.
The family is deeply grateful to the staff at Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio for their compassionate care and kindness throughout Michael’s time there.
The family will hold a private ceremony of remembrance at a later date.
