Nancy Jean Gill, a beloved member of the Kettering, Ohio community, passed away on April 12, 2026, at the age of 79. She was born on October 21, 1946, in White Plains, New York, to John and Jen Kule. Nancy graduated from Westlake High School in Thornwood, New York, in 1964, and later moved to Florida, where she married John Gill in the 1970s.

Throughout her career, Nancy made significant contributions to her community. She served as a scheduler for home care services for over a decade and later dedicated more than ten years as a crossing guard for Oakwood City Schools. Her commitment to the safety and well-being of children left a lasting impact on the families she served.

In her free time, Nancy enjoyed staying active at the Kettering Recreational Center, where she forged numerous friendships. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including sunshine, reading, and spending time with her beloved dogs: Bernie, Marty, Hero, and Nugget. Nancy loved waking her four legged friends through Hills and Dales MetroPark. A devoted fan of the television show Matlock, she often relished moments of leisure indulging in its episodes. Known as a "sun worshiper," Nancy cherished any opportunity to bask in the warmth of the sun.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, John and Jen Kule; her sister, Janet Wentland; and her brother, John “Jay” Kule. She is survived by her sister Kathy (Jon) Reed; nieces Emily (David) Price, Allison (Adam) Wentland West, Kathryn (Brian) Oaks; nephew Jamie Warden; and great-nieces and nephews Hannah, Dylan, Lauren, Gretchen, Paige, Mia, and Christian.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Routsong Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel, located at 2100 E Stroop Rd, Kettering, OH 45429. A service celebrating Nancy’s life will follow at 6:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sisca Pet Adoption Agency, reflecting Nancy’s love and dedication to animals.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a blessing.
