Stormer, Nancy Faye Irene, age 82, of Kettering, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026 after a long, difficult health journey with the support of her family and her Brookdale of Kettering family every step of the way.
Nancy was born June 15, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio to James and Glenna Pidgeon. She grew up in Kentucky and maintained very special friendships with several of her childhood friends throughout her life. Nancy graduated from Holmes High School and continued attending class reunions through last summer. Nancy went on to her career as a civilian contract negotiator for WPAFB and loved telling everyone that she bought airplanes for her living. She was a dedicated student and earned her Masters degree from AFIT while working full time.
She married Eugene Stormer on March 5, 1966 and shared 54 years of love and companionship.
Above all Nancy was known for her love of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had an extensive Teddy Bear collection/obsession. She found joy in making quilts for all of her loved ones and also donated hundreds of small quilts to local hospitals for children. She loved family gatherings and every visit with her great grandkids who happily took a ride down the hallways on her scooter with her where there may have been some racing involved.
Preceded in death by parents James and Glenna Pidgeon, Husband Eugene Stormer, Son Thomas Lowell Stormer, brother James Pidgeon, grandson TJ Briddell
Survived by Children, Amy (Roderick) Oaks and Mindy (Eric) Briddell; grandchildren, Daniel (Izzie) Potter ( great-grandchildren, Novalee and Duncan Kopec and Ollivander Potter), Catherine (Robert) Sipniewski (great-grandchildren, Emmett, Jay and Macy Jane Sipniewski), Qwen Oaks, and Megan Briddell; longtime friend, Anne Hewling; and numerous extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 11-12pm on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH 45429, with a funeral service to follow at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SICSA of Dayton. Burial at Old Union Cemetery in Ludlow Falls.
A very special thank you goes out to the staff of Aegis physical therapy - especially Ruthie who encouraged and kept her mobile much longer than we all expected. Ruthie became like a daughter to her over the years.
Also thank you to Affinity Hospice which, while our time was short, it was incredibly meaningful and loving.
