Patricia A. Whirls

WHIRLS, Patricia “Patti” A., age 71, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025. Patti was born February 11, 1954, to the late George and Grace (Maxwell) Whirls.

A graduate of Fairview High School in 1972, she attended Pinellas County Technical Center, earning her LPN in 1982. Patti went on to graduate from Excelsior University as an RN in 2008. She worked as a nurse for 36 years, caring for patients at Bethany Village and Kettering Hospital.

Patti had a gift for crafting, crocheting and knitting scarves, baby blankets, and hats for those she loved. She was a devout Christian and found comfort and strength in her faith.

Patti loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family. She was lovingly known as everyone’s grandma. She had a generous heart and an infectious laugh, endearing her to anyone she met.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Debra Scott. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joseph T. Armstrong and Melissa (Joseph) Matheson; grandchildren, Tyler Didas, Samuel Armstrong, Joseph M. Armstrong, and Anastasia Matheson; and great-grandchildren, Audrey Didas and Cash Armstrong.

Family will greet friends Tuesday, November 11 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Memorial Services will begin at 12:00pm at the funeral home.
