Patty Louise Van Schaik

September 18, 1949 — March 1, 2021

VAN SCHAIK, William (Bill) Chris, Jr. and Patty Louise (Caudill) have at last been reunited in Heaven. Bill, age 70, of Dayton, passed away October 28, 2019. His wife Patty, age 71, of Dayton, passed away March 1, 2021.

Bill and Patty were both Stebbins High School graduates, class of 1968, and were married December 21 of that same year. Bill retired from General Motors (Delphi), while Patty was a stay-at-home mom who worked for LensCrafters for several years. Bill enjoyed traveling to various destinations, listening to music, and watching NASCAR and the TV series “Castle”. Patty could be found reading James Patterson novels, doing word searches, or out on the occasional shopping trip. Both loved their family deeply, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with their grandchildren.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William (Daddy Bill) and Elizabeth (Betty Jo) Van Schaik; and brother, Gary R. Van Schaik. Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Ervine (Russ) and Bonnie Caudill; and sister, Betty Delagarza. They are survived by daughter Stephanie (Mike) Perkins; grandsons, C.J. Van Schaik and Michael Perkins, Jr.; granddaughter, Macey (Van Schaik) Pennington, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Bill and Patty’s life will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, March 6 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Hospice of Dayton.
