Deutschle, Paul, age 92, of Washington Township, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Paul was born in Chicago, IL on August 30, 1933 to the late George and Florence (Gaul) Deutschle.
Paul graduated from Lombard High School and enlisted in the US Navy at 17. He served during the Korean War on the aircraft carrier Leyte (CV-32) and then was later assigned in the Red Sea/Saudi Arabia. After serving in the Navy, Paul attended the University of Illinois and graduated with his BS in Aeronautical Engineering. He also completed his MSAE from the U of I, and upon graduating married Ann Overshiner of Champaign IL on June 7, 1958. After their marriage, they traveled the USA as he worked for various aerospace companies, including General Dynamics in Ft Worth TX, Boeing in Seattle, U of I for PhD work, McDonnell Aerospace in St. Louis, and finally as a civilian in the USAF at WPAFB in Dayton, Ohio. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping and working on his cars and after his retirement RV camping and trips to Disney World during the winter months.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister Patricia Giovaninni and his wife of 63 years, Ann (2021). He is survived by his children Paul Jr. (Anita), Katherine (Rale) Wolf; grandchildren Rebecca (James), Kurt (Ashley), Alec, Andie, Elizabeth (Ben), Leslie, Ryan; great grandchildren Nathan, Connor, Braidyn, Hailey, Aubrey, Ellie.
The family would like to thank Vienna Springs for all their love and care, with special thanks to his buddies Emily, Amy, Chrissy, and Mir for making every day shared adventures with Paulie.
He was a long time member of over 55 years at Fairhaven Church. Memorial contributions may be made to The Great Commissions Fund through Fairhaven Church, 637 E. Whipp Rd, Centerville, OH 45459.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, April 10th from 10:00am-11:00am at Routsong Funeral Home Centerville (81 N. Main St.), with a service to follow starting at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
