Peter Lincoln Hershey

Peter Lincoln Hershey, age 82, passed away March 16, 2025, at VITAS Hospice in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

He was born in 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, to Richard and Margaret (Froehle) Hershey. Although he was an only child, Peter grew up surrounded by cousins. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Army after two years of service then enrolled at the University of Cincinnati. Peter married in 1970 and had two children. He supported his family through his job as an appliance salesman at Swallen’s department store in Fairfax. Peter also volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician with the Milford Fire/EMS for 3 years. He often said the most memorable experience while an EMT was helping a young mother deliver her first child before she was able to reach the hospital. When he moved back to Dayton, he spent his summers as a volunteer at the City of Dayton pools. He loved living in the Oregon District, visiting eclectic bars, tattoo parlors, and small businesses. He often walked with his dog, Harris, who was a faithful companion until he crossed the rainbow bridge. As his health declined, Pete moved to Mt. Airy Gardens in Cincinnati, to be closer to his children. 

Peter is survived by the mother of his children, Lynn Robinson, his daughter Rebecca (Salvador) Carrasco, his son Todd (Shawna) Hershey, two granddaughters, and one grandson. A private memorial service is planned for October at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family asks well-wishers to consider donating to a charity of their choice.
