Phyllis E. Gahris

GAHRIS, Phyllis E., age 89, formerly of Centerville, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Mercy St. Johns Center, Springfield. Phyllis was a member of Normandy United Methodist Church for 50 years, taught elementary music in Centerville City Schools and was active in both Church and Community Choirs. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Cora Friesner, husband, Donald Gahris, and son, Greg Gahris. Phyllis is survived by 3 daughters; Gerry (John) Mahan, Judy (Tim) Hearsum and Cynthia (John ) Gharis Snyder; 4 grandchildren, Shelly Cooper, Douglas (Jennifer) Graham, Matthew Gahris and Alison Gahris; 5 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 W. Alex-Bell Rd., Centerville, with Rev. Tom Harry officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Normandy United Methodist Church Music Fund, 450 W.
