Bob was a graduate of Cathedral High School class of 1970. Following high school, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Dayton, followed by a Master’s in Business Administration from Wright State University. Specializing in accounting and finance, Bob continued his education even further by becoming both a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant.
Bob was a highly respected member of the Dayton business community. He spent his early career as a CFO, eventually finding his niche in venture capital, mergers, acquisitions, and helping new and existing businesses raise capital. He was passionately invested in the future of Dayton, serving on many advisory boards as well as mentoring and coaching entrepreneurs. In 2008, Bob became an entrepreneur himself, establishing Bowman Capital Advisors, LLC. Through Bowman Capital Advisors, he went on to help many other businesses succeed by sharing his extensive expertise. In recent years, Bob returned to the University of Dayton to teach their MBA Capstone Course.
As a devoted parishioner at Church of the Incarnation, Bob attended mass almost daily. He truly cared for those in need, volunteering his time at the House of Bread, and adopting families during the holidays.
Bob was a devoted family man, father, and grandfather. He loved coaching his two sons in sports as well as cheering them on from the stands. He enjoyed the outdoors, passing along his love of fishing and hunting to his sons and grandchildren. Bob was so proud of his 8 grandchildren and happily celebrated all of their accomplishments. He truly took the time to be present with, and understand, each grandchild as an individual.
