Robert Byron Brumbaugh

age 93, of Oakwood, passed away October 24. Mr. Brumbaugh graduated from Dixie High School in New Lebanon, Ohio; attended Miami University; graduated from University of Cincinnati Law School; and graduated from the Judge Advocate General's School, University of Michigan. He served in the U.S. Airborn Troops, Air Corp., Material Command Intelligence and was a practicing attorney in the Dayton area from 1932 until his retirement in 1990. He was also President of the New Lebanon Bank from 1975 to 1985. Mr. Brumbaugh was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church for more than sixty years; Dayton, Ohio State and American Bar Associations; Lawyers Club of Dayton; Dayton Country Club; Farmersville Masonic Lodge (Past Master); Scottish Rite and Antioch Temple; Kiwanis Club (Past member of the Board of Directors, and Trustee of the Kiwanis Club of Dayton, Ohio, Foundation, Inc.); Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Ohio Tau; and Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity. Preceded in death by his parents, Orion F. and Elizabeth Libecap Brumbaugh; a brother, Dr. Herbert Brumbaugh; and 2 sisters, Irene Kauffman and Martha Olt. Survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Kathleen (nee Flynn); a son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Jo; a granddaughter, Alysia; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, Oct. 31 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 33 W. Dixon Ave., Oakwood. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Book of Remembrance, 33 W. Dixon Ave., Oakwood, Ohio 45409 or the Children's Medical Center Development Department, One Children's Plaza, Dayton, Ohio 45404. The family is being served by Routsong Funeral Home.
