It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald G. Newport, a cherished resident of Caryville, Tennessee, who departed this life on March 23, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on December 2, 1946, to the late Leon and Tilda Newport, Ronald exemplified a spirit of dedication and resilience throughout his life.
Ronald graduated from Stivers High School and dedicated 32 years of his career to General Motors, where he rose to the esteemed position of manager before retiring at the age of 52. His unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence were hallmarks of his professional journey.
An avid enthusiast of all things mechanical, Ronald had a passion for restoring cars and motorcycles. His love for Norris Lake provided him with countless hours of joy, where he often found solace by the water, accompanied by his beloved dog, Poncho. Ronald cherished the simple pleasures of life and shared a deep appreciation for family and the moments spent with loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Tilda Newport; his brothers, Lee, Al, and Gary Newport; and his sister, Annalou Newport.
