Rosemarie H. Wade, age 85, of Centerville, formerly of Kettering, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on August 15, 2025.
Born on January 13, 1940, in Plauen, Germany, Rosemarie was the daughter of Erich and Hedwig Reiher. She then moved and grew up in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany. Rose came to the United States in 1963 after marrying Robert W. Wade, Jr., whom she met while he was stationed in Germany.
Rose was a devoted and loving mother. She loved her children unconditionally and would do anything for them. Throughout her life, Rose worked incredibly hard to make sure her family was taken care of. She was truly the most loving mother - her care, support, and presence were at the heart of her family’s lives.
Rose retired from the Kroger Company in 2011 and attended the Marshall Road Church of God.
In her free time, Rose loved to cook for her friends and family and was an award-winning pie baker. She was a cherished part of the Caesar Creek Flea Market community and gained a reputation for providing a variety of delicious home-cooked meals from her food truck, “Rose’s Concessions”.
Rose also had a passion for gardening and yard work, from planting flowers to cutting grass. Her dedication to maintaining the landscape even provided her with a City of Centerville Beautification Award.
Above all, her greatest joy in life was her family – her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren filled her days with love and joy.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert William Wade, Jr., and daughters, Linda and Robin.
Rose is survived by her daughters, Kim (Frank) Pickerd, Tammy (Tim) Flint, and Sandra (Ray) Whobrey; son, Jeffery (Heather Bastin) Wade; and 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
