Ruth Ann Erd Karch

of Los Altos Hills, CA, formerly of Dayton, passed on on Saturday, January 13. She was a graduate of Fairview High School and Indiana University and a member of Chi Omega sorority. After graduation, she wrote the column ''Carol Cook'' for the Dayton Journal Herald. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ruth Erd, former Daytonians. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert Karch; son, Dr. Brynn Karch (Dr. Iyabo), of Seattle, WA; daughter Kathy Karch; 2 grandchildren, Claire and Zachary Karch; 3 brothers, Richard Erd (Barbara) of Los Altos, CA, Keith Erd (Joy) of Oakwood, and Dr. Quentin Erd (Myong) of South Korea; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
