Centerville

Ruth Lynn Case, born on September 19, 1934, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the age of 91.

Lynn grew up in the small town of Spencer, WV. She attended Marshall University in West Virginia before moving to Centerville to start her teaching career at Centerville City Schools. She then continued her education at Miami University. She started as a teacher at Centerville in the Magsig building and then moved to teaching at Ida A. Weller Elementary School then to C.L. Stingley Elementary School. After retiring, she continued giving back to the students by substituting and tutoring.

Lynn was a splendid bridge player and enjoyed playing any opportunity available, especially in her later years. She loved meeting with her friends and coworkers for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. She enjoyed going out to breakfast because she loved pancakes with an abundance of maple syrup and biscuits and gravy. She enjoyed attending the Red Hat Society gatherings, visiting antique shops, and doing water aerobics. She loved getting together with her family for birthdays and holidays. For many years, when her husband, John Case, was still living, you could often find them at Doubleday's enjoying dinner with friends.

Lynn is preceded in death by her husband John I. Case, her father Earl Tyler Long, her mother Clara Monger Long, brother Thomas Long and sister Mary Margaret Lauer. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Henderson (Tom), her daughter Sally Noblick (Raymond), three grandsons, Jonathon Henderson (Fatemeh), Michael Henderson (Elise), and Jacob Noblick, one granddaughter, Abby Noblick, one great grandson, Gavin Henderson and one great granddaughter, Bianca Henderson.
