Sally Mazer

August 18, 1938 — April 8, 2024

Kettering

MAZER, Sally, age 85, of Kettering, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024. Sally was born August 18, 1938 in Akron to the late Robert Frank and Dorothy Christine Bloomfield.

She was a virtuous woman who held loyalty, integrity and character in high regard. Sally attended high school, maintaining excellent grades and acting as a majorette. She went on to graduate from Kent State University with a degree in education. At Kent State, Sally met the love of her life, Dick Mazer, on a blind date. They married, and shared 52  wonderful years of marriage. Sally and Dick created a beautiful life together; Sally stayed at home to raise their three children while Dick traveled for work. Sally found great joy in her grandchildren. She would attend swim meets, plays, and special performances, supporting her grandchildren in every way possible.

Sally loved to travel the world, visiting everywhere from Italy, Guam, St. Croix, to Japan, and Scotland not to mention the multiple cruises she took. Sally had a servant’s heart and was devoted to her faith. She attended Fairhaven Church, especially looking forward to the weekly women’s Bible studies. Sally was a part  the Daughters of the American Revolution, loved gardening and using that love to make the Warren Women's Park beautiful, and loved her time involved with the Harriet Taylor Upton Association in Warren, Ohio as well as Trumbull County Genealogy Association. She especially treasured her friendships from her years there. Once she moved to Dayton,   Sally faithfully volunteered at Clothes That Work, taking pride in the difference she made in the lives of her clients. She strove to love like Jesus, value friends, and give back to her community.

Sally is preceded in death by her husband Dick, parents, Robert and Dorthy Bloomfield, and brother, Richard Bloomfield. She is survived by her 3 children Mark and (Sandra) Mazer of Kettering, Ohio,  Lori and (John) Hastings of Surf City, NC and Keith Mazer of Port Angels, WA and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
