HAFERMAN, Sandra A., "Sandy" (Snyder), age 88, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025. Sandy was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 28, 1936 to Harry C. and Mabel (Rosengarten) Snyder. She attended Julienne High School and graduated from St. Joseph Commercial High School in Dayton in 1954. She also attended Delta College in Saginaw, Michigan and the University of Georgia. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kettering. Sandy's vocations were administrative assistant and homemaker. Her first administrative position was at Aluminum Materials in Dayton. After raising three children, she returned to work, serving for many years as a devoted church secretary at Midland Street People's Church in Bay City, Michigan, David's United Church of Christ in Kettering, and Grace Lutheran Church in West Carrollton. She also collaborated with her husband, Rev. Dean Haferman, in a ministry of marriage and family counseling. Sandy was a loving wife and mother who took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She had a good sense of style, loved to decorate and entertain, and made sure that all who visited her home felt welcomed and comfortable. She had a wry sense of humor and loved to laugh. Sandy's Christian faith was her foundation and she shared that faith with family and friends, encouraging them to love others and follow the Golden Rule.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Mabel Snyder, brother Gary Snyder, and son Michael Hieber. 

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Rev. N. Dean Haferman; sister Judy O'Neil; daughter Judy Kullberg and her husband Robert, son William R. Hieber, Jr. and wife Pilar; stepchildren Elizabeth (Haferman) O'Bryan, John Haferman, Stephen Haferman, and David Haferman; 33 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including four grandchildren, Jennifer and Christine Kullberg, Aaron Hieber, and Samantha Hieber, three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Maria, and Emma Pugh; and numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Monday, December 29, 2025 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 4865 Wilmington Pike, Kettering, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark Carlson officiating. A luncheon will be served at the church for family and friends. Interment in David's Cemetery. The family is grateful for the excellent care Sandy received at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
