Scott Andrew Snodgrass

Middletown

Scott Andrew Snodgrass, age 56, of Middletown, left this world unexpectedly on Friday, May 8, 2026.

Born to the late Maburn and Margaret Snodgrass, Scott grew up in New Carlisle, Ohio. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1989 and continued his education at DeVry University, which launched his career into professional IT. He worked for Nelson and Associates for over 20 years and also ran his own business, Geeks Incorporated. Scott was also very handy, having spent much of his youth helping his father and brother in their construction business.

Scott was shaped early in life by a Christian foundation that helped form his character, his love for others, and the way he cared for the people around him. He had a big personality, an even bigger heart, and a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved. He gave the best hugs, carried a light with him, and was often the life of the party — quick to laugh, quick to tell a story, and quick to make a moment feel memorable.

Scott had an adventurous spirit and a lifelong love for the outdoors. From a young age, he could often be found exploring, laughing, and getting into mischief with his best friend since second grade, Bryan. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, trapping, rock climbing, riding his motorcycle, and lying in a hammock — sleeping in one whenever he had the chance. He was always up for an adventure and had a way of testing just about any limit he could find.

A dreamer at heart, Scott often said, “It’s fun to dream.” He loved turning even simple outings into adventures, including taking his daughters geocaching to search together for hidden treasures and taking family camping trips where he could show off his “fire master” and “grill master” skills. Some of his fondest family memories were made at Clearwater Beach, where he loved swimming, snorkeling, collecting sand dollars, and simply soaking up time with the people he loved most.

Music was another refuge for Scott. He was a gifted singer, started the band Super Shroom with his best friend and nephews, and passed his love of music on to his daughters. Whether he was singing, telling a story, making someone laugh, or simply sitting quietly with someone he loved, Scott had a way of making the moment feel full.

Above all, Scott loved his family more than anything in this world. He was endlessly proud of his daughters and was always their biggest cheerleader. He would have done anything to take pain away from the people he loved. He delighted in being “Poppy” to his grandchildren and found so much joy in making them laugh, holding them close, and soaking up every moment with them. He was also looking forward to welcoming two new additions to the family. The immense weight of his loss is profoundly felt. His laughter, love, hugs, and adventurous spirit will be forever missed.

Along with his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy, and nephew, Mark. Left to cherish his memory are his two beloved daughters, Ashley (Mason) Stanford and Amber Snodgrass (Richard Yankus); his partner, Christina Carder, and her children, Jayden Carder (Brian Emrick), Diamon (Trevor) Gillium, and Tristen (Sydney) Carder; treasured grandchildren, Elliana, Ollie, Brynlee, Opie, Wrenley, and Vera, plus two on the way; the mother of his daughters, Rebecca Bickle; nephew, Josh Roberts; brother, Rusty Snodgrass and family; and his best friend, who was like a brother, Bryan Hatfield.

Scott’s memory will be honored privately among family and friends. As an outdoor enthusiast, Red River Gorge was one of Scott’s favorite places, and his family and friends will be taking a trip there the weekend of May 30 to celebrate his life in a way that feels true to who he was. More details will be shared soon. Please reach out to Rebecca Bickle at (937) 825-2475 for more information.

In lieu of flowers, and for those who have asked how to support Scott’s loved ones during this time, a GoFundMe has been set up for the family: https://gofund.me/18a32f202
