FERENS, Sherrie, age 78, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026. Sherrie was born April 12, 1947 to the late Theodore Robert and Elisabeth (Bliss) Dinsmore. She grew up in Kettering, graduating from Fairmont High School in 1965. Sherrie attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for two years. She earned a B.S., graduating Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Ohio State University in 1969. She received an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Ohio State University in 1972. Sherrie worked as a medical transcriber in the Medical Records Department at Good Samaritan Hospital for four years. She then worked as a bookkeeper for Wright State University School of Professional Psychology for five years. Sherrie was married to Daniel V. Ferens for twenty years.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Theodore R. Dinsmore, Jr.; sister-in-law, Mary Ream Dinsmore; niece, Lizabeth D. (Joel) Latham; nephew, Robert C. (Susan) Dinsmore, and their children, Brian and Jessica.

Memorial Services will be held Monday, February 23 at 11:00am at Kirkmont Presbyterian Church, 3377 Shakertown Rd., Beavercreek, OH 45434. Sherrie will be laid to rest privately in David’s Cemetery.
