FULLARTON, Steven W., age 86, of Washington Township, OH, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026. He will be remembered for his charm, intelligence, and resilience, his amazing stories, and his ability to find humor in even the most difficult situations. His free spirit and creativity touched everyone who knew him.
Steve was born on September 8, 1939, to Sidney and Emma Fullarton in Surrey, England. Growing up in London, Steve had a love of adventure, exploring all of Europe and even living in France as an exchange student. Having exceptional artistic talent, Steve received an Art Scholarship to an exclusive school in Europe, but after a short time he decided to change paths. He went on to graduate from Oxford University with a degree in Economics, and a minor in Art.
In the early 60's, Steve relocated to the United States to be with his immediate family that had already immigrated. He was subsequently drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served as a principle programmer for surviellance during the Vietnam era. Following his honorable discharge, he began his civilian career at Hazelton Laboratories in Washington, D.C. It was there, through a work bowling league, that he met Carmella Giambrone, the woman who would become the love of his life. They married in 1968 and settled in Maryland where they started their family and Steve, along with a former colleague, founded his own business, British American Medical & Pharmaceutical Technologies, which provided independent testing services for pharmaceutical companies seeking regulatory approval for new treatments.
In 1977, honoring a promise he had made to Carmella, Steve relocated the family to Beavercreek, OH to be closer to her family. The years that followed brought both joy and profound loss. Carmella was diagnosed with breast cancer and passed away in 1981, leaving Steve to raise their three young children with support of extended family. While raising his children, Steve also led an accomplished career building the information systems department at Miami-Luken Inc. He retired in 2014 after decades of dedicated service.
Steve worked hard and enjoyed life fully. He loved the outdoors, taking his children on camping trips, nature hikes, and making a point of beach vacations along the ocean whenever he could. He enjoyed socializing with friends, fine dining and a broad array of food. His passtime included watching TV shows like National Geographic and PBS/Nova, Jeopardy, The Great British Bake off, and of course Antiques Roadshow! He valued his time with his grown children, grandchildren, family and close friends. In his later years, his belief in God fully solidified, bringing him a quiet sense of peace. He loved the simple beauty of sitting on his patio, feeling the warmth of the sun on his skin, and observing God's beautiful creations.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 13 years, Carmella Fullarton; his mother-in-law, Leticia Giambrone; and his brother-in-law, Jerry Kennedy.
He is survived by his children, Lisa (Bill) Bright, Paul (Rama) Fullarton, and Mark (Shayna) Fullarton; his grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew, Emily, Alina, Naiya, Sidney, and Lola; his sister, Patricia Kennedy; his in-laws, Albert (Yvonne) Giambrone and Barbara (Rick) Blackstone; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
A private service will be held at Routsong Funeral Home, Kettering. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton. In Steve's honor, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
