Susan
Busch
April 22, 1952 – April 25, 2026
Susan Olkes Busch, 74, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born and raised in Cleveland (University Heights) and attended Cleveland Heights High School. She later graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Susan shared 48 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Gary Busch. Residing in Kettering, they built a life centered on family, partnership, and enduring love.
She was a devoted mother to her sons, Greg and Mike, and a proud grandmother to Glenn, Lauren, Elliott, Parker, and Lincoln. Time with her family brought her the greatest joy, and she created lasting memories filled with warmth and laughter.
She built a diverse and meaningful career over the years and was especially proud of her roles at Xerox, where she trained customers on new equipment, and at Dayton Power and Light, where she managed real estate for Gas Operations. In a natural extension of her talents and interests, she later became a residential real estate agent, helping others find homes and build their own futures.
Susan had a remarkable artistic talent and was especially known for her beautiful stained-glass creations. Her work reflected her patience, creativity, and eye for beauty, leaving behind pieces that will continue to shine for years to come.
She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—time spent at the beach, admiration of classic cars, and the companionship of her beloved German Shepherds. These passions reflected her appreciation for beauty, loyalty, and the joy found in everyday moments.
She will be remembered as kind, thoughtful, and deeply devoted to those she loved. Her steady presence and caring nature made others feel supported and at ease, and her quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Susan is survived by her husband, Gary; her sons and their spouses, Greg (Jess) and Mike (Sam); and her five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Olkes and Yetta Schindler of Cleveland, and her sister, Cheryl Olkes.
A private memorial service will be provided by Routsong Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio, with a Celebration of Life to be held following at the Presidential Banquet Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
