SNODGRASS, Terry Lee, age 57, of Dayton, went to be with the Lord to enjoy Eternal Life on Monday, July 24, 2023. He was born on September 12, 1965 in Dayton, Ohio.

Terry is preceded in death by his dad, Leroy Snodgrass. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ashley Lauren (Gertsch) Snodgrass; mom, Teresa (Vince) Laengle; sister, Joy Honaker; stepchildren, John (Kaitlynn) Doelle, III and Abigail Gay; his beloved dog, Tikaani; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Terry attended Vandalia-Butler High School where he joined Mongomery County JVS and studied Industrial Electronics. After high school, he proudly served in the United States’ Marine Corps. While serving, Terry specialized in Avionics and Communication and Navigational Systems which led him to a high-level career in Avionics. Terry valued his career and specialty he earned without a college degree.

In his free time, Terry enjoyed Ashley. Terry also enjoyed cycling, and he was involved with numerous cycling clubs around Ohio. He was also a member of multiple organizations such as: running clubs, fat bike racing, and triathlons. Over the years, Terry enjoyed competing with other athletes as part of a team in ice hockey, roller hockey, softball, baseball, power lifting, swimming, volleyball, track, and cross country. Terry was a champion and loved placing first in the competitions he competed in to show his true dedication, perseverance, and passion for each sport. As well as competing, he enjoyed volunteering as a referee for ice hockey, roller hockey, and girls roller derby.

Terry was an incredible athlete and was excellent in any sport he pursued. Over the years, he established many quality friendships whether acquaintances or dear friends around the world, he was always happy to help those he knew. With his many years of experience in the avionics field, there was no electronic job he could not accomplish whether residential, commercial, or within the aerospace industry. His expertise and attention to detail meant that when a job was done—it was done correctly. Terry was known for his incredible sense of humor which always kept people laughing. When things did not go his way, he always kept a positive attitude and persevered to make things happen.  His laughter was contagious, and his jokes were memorable.

Terry was a devoted and honorable husband in every way and cherished each moment he spent with Ashley, the love of his life. Terry and Ashley were married on February 14, 2023 and one of his biggest joys was having everyone know and see Ashley become Mrs. Terry Snodgrass. For the short three years they were given, they shared so many special moments together. Some examples are both of them finding ways to make each other’s day the best it could be as well as sharing meaningful verses from the Bible, praying together, laughing together, and living every day to the fullest. At specific times throughout the day, they would communicate either verbally or through text by celebrating each other’s birthday (ie. 912 would be texted to Terry at 9:12AM/PM, so the meaning 912 would mean ‘Happy Birthday’ with a heart, and an infinity emoji which would signify their love was eternal) at that time each day to show their love to each other in just another of many ways. Terry and Ashley believed in celebrating each other’s birthday throughout each year as well as on their special day.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 (because Terry and Ashley first met in 1987 the services are also on 8/7) at 12:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E.
