Theresa M. Brower, 79, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026. She was born on July 18, 1946, in Independence, Kansas, and spent most of her life in Dayton, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.
Theresa was a proud graduate of Patterson Co-Op High School. She was a devout Catholic whose faith guided her throughout her life. She dedicated many years to volunteering within her church, where she found great joy in teaching religious education to children and guiding young hearts in their faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene L. Hammond and Theresa M. Hammond; her brother, James L. Hammond; her children, Clay Z. Gopperton and Theresa A. Gopperton; and her grandson, Sr. FF Chandler A. Kuhbander.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Roger J. Brower. She also leaves behind her children: Crystal L. Farris (Nathan), Jane M. Kuhbander (Justin), Amelia A. Adams (Jason), and Samantha L. Reed (Tyler). Her legacy continues through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Theresa was a talented seamstress who found happiness in creating clothing for her beloved “living doll babies.” She also gave her time to her community as a Girl Scout leader, helping to shape the lives of young girls with care and dedication.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, sipping hot tea, decorating for the holidays, and watching fireworks light up the sky. She loved music, especially oldies, with favorites like Elvis and Cher. Above all, Theresa treasured time spent surrounded by her family, which was always her greatest pride and happiness.
Theresa will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her giving heart, and the love she poured into every life she touched. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the family she cherished and the community she helped build.
