Thomas J. Lorman

It is with heavy hearts and many fond memories that the family of Thomas J. Lorman, age 69, announces his passing on July 8th, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.

Born on November 15, 1956, to Carl and Joan Lorman, Thomas lived a life defined by his kind gentle positive spirit, integrity, strong faith, and work ethic. He deeply loved his family and made many friends easily wherever he went.

Thomas was proud of his accomplishments in Eagle Scouts, education, and work life. He was a 1975 graduate of Mentor High School in Mentor, Ohio, and a 1980 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Engineering with Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Thomas went on to pursue an MBA at Case Western Reserve University while working in Cleveland at TRW, and completed his degree in Heidelberg, Germany, at Boston University. He dedicated 30 years of his life to a distinguished civilian career at the Department of Defense, serving the Army in Wurzburg, Germany and Harrisburg, PA, and then the Air Force at WPAFB in Dayton, Ohio, where he received numerous awards for his engineering projects.

Thomas was a man of many passions. He loved traveling, exploring the world around him, and learning about other cultures. He was an enthusiastic skier from a young age who cherished a good run on the slopes. When he wasn’t traveling or skiing, he enjoyed a competitive game of backgammon, cards, or a lively board game with friends and family. He was also a proud and faithful OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns football fan.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Joan Lorman, and his brother Michael Lorman. He is survived by his wife, Mary Pat Lorman, and his sister, Ms. Janice Andseron, as well as a large extended family and close circle of friends that will miss his warm smile, sharp intellect, wit, and joyful company.

Mass will be held on Monday, August 10th at 11:00am in Incarnation Church, located at 55 Williamsburg Ln., Centerville, OH 45459, off of SR 48 / South Main Street. The service will be immediately followed by a Celebration of Thomas’s Life at Archer’s Tavern, located at 9496 Lebanon Pike (also SR 48 / South Main Street) in Centerville, Ohio.
