Virginia Brooks Holton-Stahl

January 17, 1926 — July 4, 2021

HOLTON-STAHL, Virginia Brooks went home to our Lord, passing peacefully after a short illness. Virginia, or ‘GGG’ as she was fondly dubbed by her loving family, was the pure definition of ‘patriarch’. A mother to three girls, Toni (William) Gardner, Marci (Carl) Jones and Teri (Richard) Taylor, Virginia became Grandma Ginger, or ‘GG’, to grandchildren Erik, Christopher, Brian, Patrick, Michael, and Andrea. Known as ‘GGG’ to Lauren, Holton, Meghan, Brooklynn, Taylor, Caitlyn, Evan, Chloe, Cameron, Griffin, Emma, Evan, Jacob, Cole, Christian, Adam, Allyson and Ryan, Ginger was also a Great, Great Grandma Ginger ‘GGGG’ to Russell, Peyton, Rhema and Ellianna.

Born in Douglas, Georgia, to Authur and Evie Brooks. Virginia was one of ten children. Ginger would meet her first husband, the late LtCol. Howard F. Holton (USAF Ret), during a local patriot parade dance and move with him to Wright Patterson Air Force Base during WWII. They would later move to Centerville, OH where they lived and raised their family until Howard’s death in 1988.

Virginia would find love a second time and enjoy two loving years with Robert “Bob” Stahl becoming a “Bonus Mom with experience” to step sons, Ted Stahl (Debbie), Tim Stahl and Robert Stahl (Marcy).
Ginger was active in many women’s clubs and an avid golfer, bridge player, square dancer and crossword puzzle enthusiast. Her favorite cousin Marletta (Bob) Darnall of Chicago, Il reminds us of the great life that GGG lived, filled with European travels and joyful experiences with family and how she was the example of generosity and caring for others. Ginger was principally centered in teaching the Golden Rule and how to treat one another, quick to remind us the importance of “Please and Thank You”.

Virginia is preceded in death by husbands Howard Holton and Robert Stahl, daughter Toni Brooks Gardner, her parents and all siblings. She is survived by son in law William Gardner, daughters Marci L. Jones and husband Carl and Teri A. Taylor and husband Richard, step sons, Ted Stahl and wife Debbie, Tim Stahl and Robert Stahl and wife Marcy, cousin Marletta and husband Bob Darnall, 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews across the country.
He did not forget you, He simply let us keep you a little longer than most. “Thank You for Everything, GGG!”
