Kettering

Walter “Alan” Rogers of Kettering, Ohio, “cashed out” on July 14, 2026. Born on October 12, 1959, to Charles and Lucille Rogers, Alan was a spirited soul who embraced life with enthusiasm, Joy, and Humor.

Alan was a proud graduate of Wilbur Wright High School, class of 1977. For over fifty years, he begrudgingly dedicated himself to his work at Kroger, earning himself an Instapot as a parting gift. An avid sports fan, he cheered for the Boston Red Sox and had a memorable stint as a Dallas Cowboys fan.

In his free time, Alan was a classic car enthusiast and loved Classic Rock, especially from Journey and Queen. He cherished family vacations to the Smoky Mountains and delighted in exploring the local metro parks and riding the thrilling roller coasters at Kings Island.

Above all, being a father “Fazha” and a Papaw brought him immense pride and joy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucille Rogers, his brother, Larry Rogers, Best friend Steve, and his beloved dogs, Zoe and Chloe. Alan leaves behind a loving family, including his children Jessica, Daniel, Kayla (Tyler), Corey (Katy), Krista, and Braedon, His cherished grandchildren, Austin, Arlo, and his brother Ellis (Cora) Rogers.

In honor of Alan’s spirit and legacy, the family will gather for private services at a later date. We invite you to celebrate his life with us, sharing stories and laughter, just as he would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Five Rivers Metro Parks Foundation.
