Willene Dodds Miller

Miller, Willene Dodds, age 92, of Beavercreek, OH, formerly of Greenfield, OH, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Willene was born on January 25, 1933, to the late Virgil and Leota Dodds, in Ross County, OH. She graduated from McClain High School in Greenfield, OH and shortly after married her high school sweetheart, Jay R. Harmount, before starting her family. Willene was a dedicated mother to her two children, and when they had grown, she began her long career with the Greenfield Exempted school district. She also worked for her brother, Howard Dodds, of Howards Foods of Springfield, OH.

Willene was very artistic and especially enjoyed working with ceramics and painting. She was a lifelong reader and enjoyed many novels. Willene’s most beloved hobby was line dancing, and could often be found dancing at the Springfield Eagles and senior citizen center. Above all she relished all the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Willene’s strong-willed and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Jay R. Harmount; second husband, Kenneth A. Miller; and 5 brothers and sisters.

Willene is survived by her daughter, Dianne (Dan) Long; son, Jay L. (Jamie) Harmount; grandchildren, Brittany (Rob) Fowler, Quincey (Heath) Gray, Jenna (Ryan) Beck; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family.

A visitation will be held from 11-12:30pm on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH 45429, with a funeral service and reception to follow. If attending, please RSVP via Willene’s obituary page on Routsong’s website. A private burial will be held at Glenn Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The American Macular Degeneration Foundation. The family would like to thank the staff of Trinity of Beavercreek, especially Cati Caldwell, for the exceptional care they gave Willene.
