William Joseph Gorman

GORMAN, William Joseph “Joe,” age 76, of Oakwood, OH, passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023. He was born to the late Robert and Polly (Preston) Gorman on Jan. 28, 1947. Joe was born and raised in Frankfort, KY where he graduated from Good Shepherd High School. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Dayton. Joe worked for Wright State University in the finance department and later retired from Sinclair Community College as Vice President of Business Operations. He was incredibly thoughtful and had a wonderful sense of humor. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling, working in his yard, planning trips, and attending car shows. Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Gorman, Jr. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Honnert Gorman. He passed away on their wedding anniversary as she held his hand. Joe is also survived by his sons, William Eric and Sean Joseph (Tara) Gorman; grandchildren, Wren Harper and Connor William Gorman; and brothers, Lance (Pat) and Forrest Christie (Vicki) Gorman. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 30th at Routsong funeral home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dayton History nonprofit group based at Carillon Historical Park, the Dayton Art Institute, or the charity of your choice.
