William E. (Bill) Stephens, age 85, of Oakwood, OH passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025. He was born on December 19, 1939, in Dayton, OH, to the late Dorothy Stephens Rogers and Charles Stephens. An esteemed member of the community and a dedicated professional, he enjoyed a remarkable sixty-year career in the insurance business, demonstrating unwavering commitment and integrity. He held the distinction of past president and was an active member of the Independent Insurance Agents Association of Dayton, Ohio.

Bill was a proud graduate of Oakwood High School, class of 1958, and continued his education at Miami University, where he laid the foundation for his successful career. His professional accomplishments were complemented by his service in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Japan, honing skills that would serve him well throughout his life.

A devoted family man, Bill cherished his time with his loved ones, especially his wife, Pam, to whom he was married for 60 years. He is survived by his wife Pam and their children, Rob (Sharon) Stephens and Jeanne (Rob) Flowers. His legacy is further carried on by his beloved grandchildren, Ellie Flowers, Emmy Stephens, JC Stephens, and Jack Flowers. He also leaves behind his dear sister, Margie Dunton, and several nephews and nieces, who will always remember him fondly.

In addition to his professional and familial commitments, Bill was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, and The Sertoma Club of Dayton, where he contributed to the community and forged lasting relationships. An avid golfer and bowler, he found joy in these pursuits, sharing many memorable moments with friends and family alike. He was a dedicated fan of University of Dayton Basketball, as well as the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Robert R. and Dorothy Rogers, and his brother-in-law, Captain Lewis W. Dunton, III. His passing is a significant loss to all who knew him, as he touched many lives with his warmth, wisdom, and spirit. He will be deeply missed but remembered for the countless contributions he made to his family, friends, and community.

A visitation will be held from 4-7pm, on Tuesday September 23, 2025, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH 45429. A Funeral service will be held at 10am the following day, Wednesday September 24, also at Routsong Kettering. Burial at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Building Bridges, P.O. Box 1, Dayton OH 45405.
