William R. Webb

WEBB, William R. “Bill” age 76, of Beavercreek, OH, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Bill was born on December 28, 1948 in Delbarton, WV, to the late Robert “Jack” and Lillian Webb. He grew up in Delbarton and graduated from Burch High School and continued his education at WVU before ultimately transferring to and graduating from Marshall University with his B.S. in Banking and Financing. Bill was shortly thereafter drafted by the US Army where he served his country in Vietnam. Following his service, Bill relocated to the Dayton area where he started his career with Top Value Stamps. Subsequently, he was employed with Dayton Press, E.F. McDonald and CSC, from where he retired in 2014.

In 1972, Bill met his future wife, Maria Sommers, on a blind date, later marrying in August of 1973. Throughout his life Bill was an avid golfer and could frequently be found on the greens of his home course, NCR Country Club. In his later years, he and Maria thoroughly enjoyed traveling, especially to Bradenton, FL where they could escape Ohio winters. Bill was always happiest when spending time with family, especially grilling at home with all his loved ones gathered and on the golf course. His steadfast demeaner and quiet nature will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Suzanne Barber.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Maria Webb; children, RJ Webb, Alexis (Paul) Wick, and Chuck Webb; grandchildren, Donnie and Charlotte Wick; sister, Mary Lou (Bill) Baisden; father-in-law, Harry Sommers; sister-in-law, Marta Goertemiller; and numerous extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10-11am on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH 45429, with a funeral service to follow at 11am. Interment at Calvary Cemetery Dayton. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
